LANDSCAPE SERVICES PROPOSAL

  • Mowing & Trim

  • Mowing is performed on a contract basis. If you have used our mowing services in the past – please find the mowing contract enclosed. If not, check yes – and a member of our team will be in touch.
  • Lawn Care Services

  • Aeration is the most important thing you can do for your turf! It reduces compaction to allow water and nutrients to reach the roots. We advocate aeration both in the spring and the fall. If you choose to aerate only once, we recommend the fall.
  • Organic fertilizer is used as a sustainable alternative to chemical fertilizer. We recommend both a Spring (with a mid season application of humates) & Fall applications. These will promote drought tolerance and nutrient uptake.
  • Weed control within your lawn is recommended twice per season. If you choose to spray only once per year, fall is the best time to do this.
  • Proper horticultural practices usually deem this unnecessary, but we can perform this service if the lawn has an unusually thick thatch layer.
  • Over-seeding can be used to help fill in bare spots or thinning areas in your lawn.
  • We have found that it works best if pet pick-up is performed prior to mowing, please plan accordingly if you are planning to do this yourself.
  • Edging is the removal of over grown grass at the perimeter of your lawn area (i.e. driveway and sidewalk)
  • Clipping removal is the bagging of grass after each mow. This is no longer considered best practice for a healthy lawn.
  • Spring/Fall Clean up Services

  • Lawn cleanup will remove leaves, twigs, cinders and thatch from the grass. The use of a power broom may be necessary when there is an excess quantity of cinders in the lawn and garden. Recommend in spring and fall.
  • Garden cleanup is hand raking to remove leaves, twigs, cinders and plant die back from the garden. Recommend in spring and fall.
  • A landscape fabric will be installed along the roadside edge to protect lawns and gardens from wintertime cinder application.
  • Irrigation Services

  • Our crews will start up your irrigation, review the zones, set the clock for proper watering, and repair any line breaks. This includes spray, rotor, drip and subsurface irrigation.
  • Winterization is an important part of maintaining a properly running irrigation system. We protect irrigation systems from winter damage by using a compressor to remove water that can freeze, expand and crack piping and damage components of the backflow assembly.
  • Do you have a dry spot, or have you recently installed new plants or flower containers? A member of our design staff will contact you to discuss and plan your additions.
  • Our crews will review each zone of your system and adjust/repair irrigation heads and adjust the clock as necessary for best water efficiency.
  • Native Areas

  • Native grass will be cut to 4-6 inches and clippings will be removed.
  • Organic fertilizer is used as a sustainable alternative to chemical fertilizer. We recommend both a Spring (with a mid season application of humates) & Fall applications. These will promote drought tolerance and nutrient uptake.
  • Wild areas will be sprayed to control noxious weeds. Areas with wild flowers will not be sprayed. (In and around wild flower areas a hand technique will be utilized).
  • Over-seeding will help to fill in bare spots or thinning areas in your native grass. (For best results the area should have adequate irrigation for over-seeding to be successful).
  • Tree and Shrub Care

  • Pruning will be done to improve the health and aesthetics of the plant.
  • Organic fertilizer will be broadcast within the drip line of the plant.
  • Liquid fertilizer will be injected into the root area to enhance growth and to nourish plant. We recommend this for all trees.
  • This will be performed under the direction of an arborist for specific insect or disease control.
  • This will be performed under the direction of an arborist for specific insect or disease control.
  • Fall installation and (Spring removal) of fencing will help protect trees and shrubs from our furry friends.
  • A member of our design staff can help you decide the best trees and shrubs for your landscape. Come by our garden center to select your favorite plants, and we can install them for you.
